What is KRAV MAGA

Krav Maga is a cutting edge martial arts system that is world renowned for its effectiveness in self defense. It originated from a system that managed to protect and defend against modern day situations, and is now commonly taught to military forces as the best form of unarmed combat. It is employed in organizations such as the Israeli Special Forces, FBI, and CIA to teach personnel to neutralize threats as quickly as possible.

What Makes Krav Maga Different?
Krav Maga differs from traditional martial arts and mixed martial arts in that its role is to be used in finishing fights that exist in the real world, rather than in the controlled environments of a dojo or a ring. The underlying principle of Krav Maga is not to score points with elaborate kicks and punches, or grind out wrestling techniques that leave you vulnerable to attack; the underlying principle is that you can learn to end the fight as quickly and simply as possible

Is Krav Maga For You?
The techniques that you learn allow you to use simplicity in its application to devastating effect. Whether you are attacked by a single person, a group of people, whether they are armed with a knife, or even a gun, you will learn to finish the fight and escape. This is independent of your weight and strength – the techniques that are taught do not need you to be super flexible or fast, but they will drill you into being decisive, and to be able to instinctively cope with any threat. The self defense system is designed for people of all shapes, physical abilities and regardless of age or sex. The same techniques, with minor modifications, can be taught to everyone.

Krav Maga Techniques
The techniques of Krav Maga do encompass striking such as punches and kicks, but concentrate more on elbows, knees, and directed strikes to cause rapid incapacitation. The system teaches you to direct strikes towards vulnerable areas such as the neck, groin, and other pressure points so that you are able to finish the fight, move onto incapacitating the next opponent, or escape without injury.

Grappling, throws, and ground fighting techniques are also taught, as many street fights end up on the ground. However, rather than being involved in lengthy wrestling on the ground that can lead you to being vulnerable, Krav Maga teaches you to rapidly gain the upper hand with submission and escape techniques. The most effective elements of other martial arts are incorporated into Krav Maga, so that you have the deadly tools to deal with anything that comes your way.
